Original Characters

I do some writing here and there, and over the years I've had more than my fair share of characters. Here are a few of my favorites, and the ones who stick out to me.

Thomas Starr Woolf/Nijusei Ohkami

Originally an original furry character I created probably back in either fourth or fifth grade as a Sonic spinoff character, but then I revived him as a completely original anthropomorphic character in high school when I decided to make Glass Moon. I've actually never really worked on him, but since he's more or less my first original character ever I've always has a special place for him in my heart. Hopefully sometime in the future I can use him and develop him.

Howsieng Midori

My very first fictional Sailor Soldier, used in a short-lived Sailormoon RP back in junior high. She was Sailorpisces. Since she was basically a Mary Sue (something sadly suffered by from mostly all first-created characters in any fandom), she had a lot of my own personal aspects embedded into her. Basically, she was opinionated and outspoken. I recycle a lot of her traits into the future characters to come.

Midori was opinionated and outspoken, something I used to be. In the beginning she was more of a plot device than anything else, so didn't receive much development. I hope that sometime in the future I can reuse her entirely and develope her as a character.

Ruto Michelle Zorada

A character I created back in the beginning of high school, as I was creating the draft of my Zelda comic. Since I had this sort of "water" thing going on back then, I put a little more effort in her than the other characters, delving more into her past and relationships and giving her traits that I liked, such as an affinity for Chinese-styled dresses and such. She has (obviously) always been a favorite of mine, though the others characters soon climbed up after her.

What really stuck out to me was when I wrote a scene where Ruto overheard a conversation between Tori and Rei, when Tori exposed the fact that Rei was using Ruto for his own end rather than actually caring about her. When Rei left and Tori ran into Ruto, I expected Ruto to be hurt and perhaps even furious. However, instead Ruto gave a look of pity and asked if there was any way she should help him.

Ruto is easily the character who's gone through the most development, not only through many drawing style shifts but also through character. I'll be sad once the first story of Distant Promise is finished.

Tutore Hitomane

Possibly another incarnation of Midori, but Tutore was originally supposed to play the role of Miang in Xenogears for Glass Moon. However, from all the player drama the RP received, her character suffered as well... especially since the other members only seemed interested in their boisecks and not in plot or character development. However, Tutore did drastically change within that small time into her own character, and I like her a lot. Once again, I hope to be able to write her again in the future.

Azuka Kasim

A very recent addition to my favorites, Azuka was unexpected. I originally had her join a Xenosaga RP in the beginning of 2006, and having her grow in an actual character-driven RP for the very first time made me see developments I never saw before in many characters, but her especially.

Azuka is an altered Kirschwasser from the Xenosaga series, and while she may have amazing abilities, she finds out that her time is ticking. Because of this and other things, she feels intense jealousy toward MOMO. However, since MOMO is a hard person to dislike, Azuka is visibly torn about her feelings as well.

Tsai Tsulong

I'm currently writing a novel entitled "Dallas", and Tsulong is one of the characters in it. Tsulong is obviously the person I put most of myself into, so he's sort of like a Mary Sue, only super angsty. Okay, so that doesn't paint him in a flattering light. Still, I like him enough that I use him as my Shooting Star Productions pseudonym.
