Site - About

This section has a little bit about the site, including some frequently asked questions.

About the Name

The name "Zale Shine" is really a crackfed name. I was tired and was wracking my brain for a good title to this shrine, and the two words just popped into my head: Regal Lavender. I really wanted to use the word "lavender", though. After all, purple's symbolically the color of royalty due to it's hard to synthesize dye. And the Regal part I debated on because it's technically a spoiler. But I didn't want to just name it after one of her abilities or just "Lavender", so I came up with "Regal Lavender". Then I realized that sounded stupid. But then again, it's not like anyone would visit this site, so I just named it after her one supportive ability: "Zale Shine".

Why I Made this Shrine

Why make a website about Fee? Simple. While I find most of the characters in the Atelier Iris series interesting, Fee stuck out to me the moment I set eyes on her when I picked up the strategy guide and saw the game for the first time. Though I'd like to make a general shrine to all of the characters, I simply do not have the time nor the energy to do so. But I found myself immersed in Fee's faerie-tale story of being a long-lost princess, and she became very important as the story progressed. However, she never lost her diligence or honesty as the game proceeded through its trials, and I admired that of her.

Atelier Iris is a wonderful game series, and it deserves something nice. I'm not talking about huge combo sites with domain names with almost no information at all, like most Final Fantasy sites (seriously, those bug me). It's a wonderful piece of artwork in both storytelling to gorgeous environments and interesting characters. As far as I know, nobody's bothered to make shrines. So consider this site my small tribute not only to Fee, but to the Atelier Iris series as well.

That, and I'm am terrible at competition. I like having some originality in my sites.

About the Layout

This layout was made using textures from Hybrid Genesis in Photoshop, sliced up in Adobe ImageReady, and cleaned up in NoteTab Light (a tabbed replacement for Notepad). The font used in the layout is RingBearer. A lot of the template came from another layout my friend Bobbi of december-rain.org coded for me, so the disclaimer box and the thumbnail borders look great because of her original work.

What the heck is Atelier Iris?

Atelier Iris is a RPG series. So far, there are three titles of the Atelier Iris series. Ther first is Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana, developed by Gust and localized in North American by NIS America in May 2005. The second game of the series, Atelier Iris 2: The Azoth of Destiny, was also developed by Gust localized by NIS America for North America in April 2006. The second game is actually a prequel. The third game, Atelier Iris 3: Grand Fantasm, was released in Japan in June 2006. So far, there have been no announced plans to localize the third Atelier Iris game, which is set timelinewise after The Azoth of Destiny and before Eternal Mana. So far, there has been no news on a localization.

The actual Atelier series started way back in 1997 with Atelier Marie. I've never played it, and considering that I'm already in love with the current Atelier Iris series, I probably never will. It's noted that Atelier Iris is a more traditional RPG in addition to the Atelier series' traditional item making and synthesizing. You can find a little more information about the previous games in the series at sites like RPGamer.

Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana is the sixth game in the Atelier series, and Atelier Iris 2: The Azoth of Destiny is the seventh.

What is your usage policy?

Please take a look here for my usage policy.

Do you take link exchanges and/or affiliates?

Yes, if your site is related to the Atelier series, preferably the Atelier Iris series or a character shrine from the series.

Where did you find your images? Can you get me some?

Most of them have been scanned in by me from the Prima official strategy guide. If you're making an Atelier Iris 2 shrine or website, then maybe. It's best to e-mail me and ask me.

You're missing a lot of information.

Yes, I am. I decided to make this shrine towards the end of completing the game, so I don't have access to a lot of the SP totals and such. If you have some corrections or contributions to give to this site, please do so! I'll give you full credit.

What happened to the fanlisting?

I found TFL to just be a big popularity contest, so I let it expire.

What is your contact information?

Here is my contact information if you want to talk to me. If you're just a fan of Atelier Iris in general, I'd love to talk; Atelier Iris fans are a rare find.
